Ever wonder how Andre Ethier manages to stay so chill despite leading the Dodgers in game-winning RBI? The Dodgers' right fielder shared his secret on Saturday with 100 lucky participants in DodgersWIN with the first-ever yoga session in Dodger Stadium. Ethier's yoga instructor, Johanna Epps, flew in from Phoenix to lead a group in one hour of twists, poses, sun salutes and Etheir's personal favorite, the difficult Pigeon Pose. The session took place at the unusually tranquil hour of 11 a.m. in the Mannywood neighborhood of Dodgertown, CA 90090 -- aka left field.

Does anyone else hear the overwhelming sounds of silence? Where once elipticals whirred and treadmills whizzed, now there are only crickets. From Santa Monica to Echo Park, aerobics studios are feeling a chill wind blow. It seems, friends, as though no one can afford their gym membership anymore. But an empty wallet is no excuse for clogged arteries, and in fact, exercise will get your mind off depressing stuff like that pesky recession. Here are some ways you can keep your resolution to get in shape without breaking the (already broken) bank.

Health and fitness: it's a gift category upon which one must tread delicately. Give the wrong person a piece of fitness equipment and you risk wreaking havoc upon a fragile self-esteem, or simply having your gift received with the silent treatment and a single, lonesome tear rolling down their cheek.

With as many gurus of yoga available as the personality types frequenting their classes, finding a studio and a style as a beginner can be daunting. But one need look no further than the local newsstand and their dizzying array of yoga journals to see that the health (and other) benefits of the practice run far and wide.
