Tonight In Rock: Blink 182, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Airborne Toxic Event, Timber Timbre

Tonight legendary Poway-bred pop punk outfit Blink 182 will be headlining the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater with none other than Weezer, Taking Back Sunday and Asher Roth. NY-based alternative rock trio Yeah Yeah Yeahs (LAist Review) are poised to take on the Greek Theatre with Portland's own experimental electronic duo YACHT and celebrated alternative rockers the Breeders in tow. And, lastly, Los Feliz-bred Top 40 maestros the Airborne Toxic Event will be performing at the Pomona Fox Theater with none other than hometown heroes Red Cortez (LAist Review, #2) and the the Henry Clay People (Review, #2, #3, #4). But we strongly suggest heading over to the Silver Lake Lounge to catch Toronto-based folk rock outfit Timber Timbre. Local indie rock act the Minor Canon and Arizona-based rock quintet What Laura Says are slated to kick things off.

This week legendary Poway-bred pop punk outfit Blink 182 will be headlining the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater with none other than Weezer, Taking Back Sunday and Asher Roth. Parisian buzz band Phoenix (LAist Review) are poised to grace the Greek Theatre with Canadian indie rock outfit Metric and local garage rockers the Soft Pack in tow. English alternative rockers Arctic Monkeys will be performing at the Hollywood Palladium with local pop rock outfit the Like. And, lastly, NY-bred indie pop act the Pains of Being Pure at Heart (LAist Interview) will be taking on the Troubadour.

                     

Highly-anticipated sets by Metro Station, Fall Out Boy, Taking Back Sunday, the Deftones and dozens of others were delivered with great sound and clock-like precision as the two main stages ping-ponged back and forth, leaving only a few seconds of silence between acts. The artists followed through with great performances and plenty of reconizable hits and classics in the mix. Metro Station's "Shake It" and Ashes Roth's "I Love College" represented some of the current hits as nostalgic performances from the Deftones, Adolescents and Vandals dished up some old classics,

Tonight In Rock: Puscifer, Deftones, Asher Roth, Cut Chemist

Tonight A Perfect Circle front man Maynard James Keenan will be concluding a two-night stint at Club Nokia in Downtown under the pseudonym Puscifer. The second and final date of Bamboozle Left Festival, which touts a slew of heavy-handed rockers like Deftones, Thrice and Taking Back Sunday, will be taking place at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. And, lastly, Pennsylvania-bred rapper Asher Roth will be headlining the Key Club. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Echo later on in the evening to catch this week's edition of Part Time Punks, which features LA's legendary turntablist Cut Chemist.

Tonight pop songstress Alanis Morissette will be stopping by the Orpheum Theatre in Downtown. LA Locals West Indian Girl are continuing their residency at Spaceland. Long Island rockers Taking Back Sunday are playing the virginal Club Nokia with Sweden's own the (International) Noise Conspiracy. Prodigious art rockers And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead will be rocking out at the Echo. And, lastly, San Diego's Crocodiles, who are best known as the phoenix that rose from ashes of TPTBUTET and the Prayers, will be performing at the Smell—Yes, that is in fact Kristen Gundred of Grand Ole Party's hubby. But we suggest heading over to the Hotel CafĂ© to catch British chanteuse Alice Russell in action. She'll be belting out soulful notes in support of 2008's Pot Of Gold.
