Tonight In Rock: Dave Alvin & The Guilty Women, Sa-Ra Creative Partners, Spindrift, Princeton

Tonight LA's own rock and roots singer-songwriter Dave Alvin & the Guilty Women will be gracing the Santa Monica Pier. Local psych rockers Spindrift will be ringing in their latest record at Spaceland. And, lastly, Eagle Rock-bred indie pop outfit Princeton (LAist Interview) will be performing at Three Clubs. But we strongly suggest heading over to Amoeba Music in Hollywood to catch NY-by-way-of-LA hip hop trio Sa-Ra Creative Partners.

Tonight In Rock: John Fogerty, Deer Tick, Imaad Wasif, Hootenanny Festival

Tonight Berkeley-bred rock singer-songwriter John Fogerty, best known for his time with Creedence Clearwater Revival, will be closing out a three-night stint at the Hollywood Bowl. Rhode Island-based rockers Deer Tick are poised to grace Spaceland with locals Dawes. And, lastly, the Hootenanny Festival, which features none other than Los Lobos, Reverend Horton Heat, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Dusty Rhodes and the River Band, among many others, will be commencing in Orange County. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Nomad Collective Art Compound to catch the New Weird America Festival. LAist favorites Imaad Wasif, Spindrift and Night Horse are all slated to perform.

Tonight In Rock: Mirah, Dengue Fever, Spindrift, Brother Reade

Tonight LA-based Cambodian rock outfit Dengue Fever will be screening their forthcoming DVD, Sleepwalking Through The Mekong, as well as performing at the Echoplex. Local psych-rockers Spindrift are poised to headline Spaceland with blues-rock duo Restavrant in tow. And, lastly, LA-by-way-of-Winston-Salem hip hop duo Brother Reade (LAist Interview, Review) will be gracing Space 15 Twenty. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Echo to catch Portland-based pop-folk songstress Mirah.

Tonight rappers Method Man and Redman will be performing at the House of Blues Sunset. We can only surmise that they'll be performing songs from 1999's Blackout!. Brit-rockers Travis is set to play to a sold-out crowd at the Troubadour. Florida's own Copeland will be shelling out saccharine indie pop songs at the El Rey Theatre in support of 2008's You Are My Sunshine. You'll surely get your fix of falsetto. Brooklyn-based pop rockers Bishop Allen will be performing at the Echo. And, lastly, psych rock act Spindrift will be celebrating the release of their forthcoming full length, 2008's The West, with grizzly blues rock duo Restavrant at the Roxy. But we suggest heading over to the Echoplex to catch Indie 103's Check One Twosday. Local indie rock songbirds Earlimart will be accompanied by Red Cortez, formerly known as the Weather Underground.

We made it through another South by Southwest Interactive, Film, and Music Conference and Festival in Austin, TX. After writing out that sentence, we need a nap but stay tuned for more interviews and live footage documenting LA's presence at the 21st annual event.
