Pencil This In: Amoeba Film Series, Insomnia @ ALOUD

Author Gayle Greene will discuss her book An Insomniac’s Slant on Sleep with Alice Wexler, research scholar at the UCLA Center for the Study of Women. Greene weaves memoir and investigation on the science of sleep -- from the perspective of a life-long insomniac. She’ll guide the audience through the “hidden terrain of a devastating and little understood condition.” The free event begins at 7 pm tonight at the Central Library as part of its ALOUD series. Reservations are recommended.

TEEVEE: In CBS’s Criminal Minds, FBI "behavioral analysts"—aka "profilers"—track down criminals by anticipating their next moves in this procedural drama, now in its fourth season. Tonight’s event at the Paley Center will screen a new episode and the audience will get the pick the brains of the show’s cast and crew. Scheduled in person are: Ed Bernero (Executive Producer), Paget Brewster ("Emily Prentiss"), AJ Cook ("Jennifer 'J.J.' Jareau"), Thomas Gibson ("Aaron Hotchner"), Mark Gordon (Executive Producer), Matthew Gray Gubler ("Dr. Spencer Reid"), Joe Mantegna (“David Rossi"), Shemar Moore ("Derek Morgan"), Deb Spera (Executive Producer) and Kirsten Vangsness ("Penelope Garcia"). The event begins at 7 pm and tickets are $25.
