Living in Hollywood is never so fun as when attending an old-school movie event. Granted, there wasn't anything highly unusual about the screening of "Gilda" at the Silent Movie Theater yesterday -- it was the third movie in the Cinefamily's month-long series, Femme Fatale Hall of Fame. But some things happen in Hollywood that just can't happen elsewhere. In this case, it was Peter Ford, son of Glenn Ford - the star of the film......

It's halfway through this series, but with an idea this glorious it's better late than never. Cinefamily is devoting it's Saturday Noir Matinees in June to a series called Femme Fatale Hall of Fame. The Cinematheque screened Gilda, one of Ford's best-remembered films (due in no small part to Rita Hayworth's stunning beauty). Those of us who had hopes of seeing......

Happy Tuesday, dear readers. In celebration of the passing of Monday, LAist offers you a spectacular box-office flop, some film noir, plus a little rock 'n' roll and a little bit of country. Part of the ongoing series of musicals showing at the Egyptian Theater, tonight is the ill-fated 1973 musical Lost Horizon, a film which cannot be found on video. Directed by Charles Jarrott, the film bombed at the box office despite the......
