Lakers 111, Sonics 91 - Seattle had no chance against the surging Lake Show. Kobe was ejected in the third and it didn't matter (double technical after arguing a call -- not a huge deal). LA has won 11 of their last 13 and all but one was on the road. The Lakers got double digit contributions from seven players, led by Pau Gasol's 22.

The sixth-ranked Bruins demolished the Oregon State Beavers 84-49. The game was over within the first 30 seconds when Darren Collison hit a three-pointer to start the game to keep the Beavers winless in the Pac-10.
Lakers 130, Suns 124 - So I'm like "OMG!" and then she's like "fer reelllllz!" And then I'm like "NO.WAY." and the she's like "totally."
I apologize for the lack of football recaps, but I found it very hard to write about college football this season. With all the upsets it just seemed like not even the college players were all that passionate about playing the game. Look at the following lists and you’ll see what I mean. This season seven #1 and #2 ranked teams have been defeated by unranked opponents. Compare that to last season when the...
Ducks 4, Kings 3, SO - Southern California's teams are getting to know each other pretty well. After opening the season with two games in London, they now face each other in three of their next six games. Last night in Anaheim the Ducks showed signs of life, but blew a two goal lead in the third period. The eventually beat Los Angeles 2-0 in a shoot-out. Spurs 107, Lakers 92 - The Lakers are...
With just a little more than half of the college football season past us, it’s become evident that no team wants to play for the national championship. No, not even undefeated Ohio State whose non-conference schedule included illustrious teams such as Youngstown State, Akron and Kent State. As for the rest of college football, every other team that climbed atop of the corpses has subsequently fallen. See California and LSU last week and South...
Dodgers 6, Padres 5 - The Blue Crew spoiled Trevor Hoffman Night in San Diego, smoking the Padres closer for four runs in the ninth. Hoffman was being honored that game for being baseball's career saves leader, but all the Dodgers gave him was a loss. The comback win snapped LA's losing streak at four and put them back into first place in the NL West. Canucks 2, Ducks 1, 2OT - Anaheim staged a...
Lakers 118, Wizards 102 - Some say the Gilbert Arenas - Kobe Bryant rivalry has sprouted, and LAist is pretty sure it's budding. Both players have denied any personal friction despite mild trash talking in the media. Their exciting play against each other in Washington demonstrated talent and mutual admiration. Kobe had 39 points and Arenas had 37, several of which came on spectacular plays against one another. Kings 7, Panthers 0 - It wasn't the Miracle On Ice, but it...
Bruins 69, Ducks 57 - UCLA hoops grabbed sole possession of first place in the Pac 10 as the conference's top two teams faced off at Pauley Pavilion. The Bruins dominated immediately after the opening tipoff to avenge an earlier loss to Oregon which knocked them out of the nation's #1 ranking. The were also eager to put their last game -- a loss at Stanford -- behind them. They did so in convincing fashion...
Ducks 68, Bruins 66 - UCLA men's hoops dropped their first game of the year and likely fell out of the nation's top ranking for the first time in several weeks. A previously undefeated Oregon squad was coming off an upset loss to USC, and pulled an upset of their own in Eugene. For more on the game, check out Henry's post. Trojans 91, Beavers 46 - Perhaps avenging the Trojan's football loss a few...
Lakers 132, Kings 128, OT - Even though Sacramento came into the game a .500 team, this Norcal/Socal rivalry produced another exciting game. The Lakers held a commanding 21 point lead, but fell apart and needed last second shot by Smush Parker to send it into overtime. Despite going scoreless for the first 16 minutes, Kobe had 42 points, 5 of which came on free throws towards the end of the extra period. Both teams...
There's only one question: where does your allegiance lie? The Bruins were slaughtered by the Trojans 66-19 last year with what was considered the best UCLA men's football program in years. What is important to realize however is that last year's USC men's football program was also considered its best in years. While USC lacks the star power of last year's team, Pete Carroll has managed to take this year's additions and turn them...
The Bruins head to Arizona State tomorrow energized by last week’s decimation of Oregon State. Patrick Cowan and his support staff have put the four previous games behind them, and Bruin fans everywhere are riding this as though a new season has begun. However this Saturday will be a pivotal game, since a win against Arizona State will put UCLA in bowl game territory. Let’s all hope for a repeat performance from young Patrick...
The loss suddenly has Bruins fans freaked out that they won't be dancing when the NCAA Tournament Selection Committe draws up its brackets on Sunday.
The win was enormous for UCLA. Going into the contest, UCLA had essentially one quality win-- a come-from-behind thriller over Washington early in the season. The Bruins desperately needed another big win, and thoroughly dominating a good Big East opponent on the road was the perfect elixir. The win also helped the entire Pac-10 conference. When the NCAA Tournament committee thinks about whether to take 5th Pac-10 team or a 6th or 7th Big East team, this game can serve as a decent barometer.
