TV Junkie: Hulu to Charge? Changes on 'FlashForward'; 'Dollhouse' Enters Deathspiral

FOX has pulled "Dollhouse" completely from its November schedule. The series returns in December in a deathrow Friday slot. If this is truly the end of the show, it won't be the end of the line for Eliza Dushku, whose appearance in Hulu commercials has made her a very recognizable face - we hope to see her again soon.

TV Junkie: People's Choice Voting Started

Syndication News: IFC will be rebroadcasting back to back episodes of "Arrested Development" on Sundays at 10pm and Tuesdays at 9pm starting on October 25th. Comedy Central will be rebroadcasting "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" starting in the Summer of 2010.

TV Junkie: More Repurcussions for NBC's Cancellation of 'Southland'

Ten days ago we bitched about NBC's cancellation of "Southland" and we had a lot of dialogue about that. Now the industry wonders if this move will result in creatives avoiding NBC because why work for a place that would cancel the best-reviewed and highest-rated freshman series in 2008-09? Oh yeah, and it was a series created by John Wells Productions, the guys that created, among other things, "E.R.", which only won about a jillion Emmys and provided NBC with hundreds of millions of dollars in advertising dollars.

TV Junkie: LA's 'Southland' Axed; Uh Oh 'Hawaii Five-O'

From tsunami-watch to bad-acting-watch, news has it that Hawaii will be subjected to a CBS reworking of "Hawaii Five-O". Since "Fringe" co-creators Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are writing the pilot, we will give it at least that shot, but unless they have continued involvement, we don't have a lot of hopes for the show.

TV Junkie: Jon Rains on Kate's Parade; NBC to Comcast? UPDATED: Pam Beesly's Wedding Vlog

So the word was that Jon Gosselin was kicked off of "Jon & Kate Plus 8" making it "Kate Plus 8" which really would have been 1/2 a show. Now Jon has retaliated and has shut down the show's production via a cease and desist order. So now there'll be a battle between parental rights and TV network contract lawyers. Could be interesting but it seems unlikely anyone will come out smelling like roses in this mess. --- Is GE finally going to get out of the TV business? Rumor has it that Comcast is in talks to acquire all or some of NBC Universal. Hopefully this will put an end to the Lenofication of TV and will restore more scripted shows (we can dream).

CoCo's doing a nice job taking advantage of his new couch's proximity to our city's best and brighest. Dodgers skipper Joe Torre appeared early in the week, and last night he brought on the NBA Finals MVP for two segments. Part two appears after the jump...

Dodgers Skipper Joe Torre, not yet done promoting his Yankee tell-almost-all, stopped by Universal City on Monday to visit another New York City transplant. As Conan mentions at the top of the video, the Dodgers have the best record in baseball right now. Hopefully we'll all get to say that in October.

Conan is having fun exploring Los Angeles so he went canoeing in the LA River. "Let's never do that again," he said after humorously trying it near the 6th Street Bridge.

You don't even need to be on shrooms to get hypnotied by this. Thanks, Conan! Yesterday the blog Serious Lunch found that Conan's background seems based off the Mario Bros. Mushroom Kingdom. And boy, it looks like they were right.

TV Junkie: Highlights of the Week - Conan Takes Over 'The Tonight Show'

The TV Junkie is still on vacation but we've put together highlights of the week. The TV Junkie will be back next Monday. The big story this week is Conan O'Brien taking over "The Tonight Show" with a new set and hopefully a new take on the show as Jay Leno's tenure, while stable, seemed a little dated by the time he signed off last week.

TV Junkie: Weekly Update - Leno's Last Night Friday

The TV Junkie is away (back on June 8th) but we'll give you some highlights of what to watch this week, another update will be posted next week: Other than Al Pacino slated to play Dr. Kevorkian in an HBO pic, the other big highlight is that this is the final week of "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" - catch it while you can. Wednesday: 8:00pm Season premiere of "Wipeout" (ABC) 9:00pm Series premiere of Mike Judge's "The Goode Family" (ABC)

TV Junkie: '24' Finale; 'Chuck' Will Return

Tonight is the two-hour season finale of "24" (haters can move on please). We're already looking forward to season 7 which will supposedly occur in New York City and will be the "most realistic" season yet. How is that even [snark] possible? We admit we have shamelessly been wasting a ton of hours on the "24 - Special Ops" iPhone game. A recent high point for us was the chance to see a Janeane Garofalo performance where she read some of her "Janis Gold vs. Chloe O'Brien" dialogue.

TV Junkie: 'The Soup' Expands to G4; Jamie Oliver/Ryan Seacrest Project, Potential 'meh'

New Web Series: Fans of stand-up comedy will enjoy "ROFL" which starts today and will be updated weekly with hand-picked tidbits of comedy from around the country. The show gets posted to Revision3 internet TV.

Interview: Sam Lloyd, aka 'Ted' from 'Scrubs' - The Blanks Play Largo on 5/16

Sam Lloyd has been in TV and movies for over twenty years. "Seinfeld" fans will recognize him as Ricky from "The Pie" and "The Cigar Store Indian" episodes, as well in episodes of "Mad About You", "The Drew Carey Show", "3rd Rock From The Sun", and countless other TV shows. Lloyd really caught our eye when he played "Neru" in Galaxy Quest (1999) and shortly afterwards he began appearing as hapless attorney Theodore "Ted" Buckland in NBC's "Scrubs" and has been on the show for 8 years now, through its transition to ABC.

TV Junkie: New Series from 'Robot Chicken' Team; News Corp Suffers Drop In Income Despite 'Idol' Success

Late night TV is hopping tonight, everybody has at least one great guest, be sure to check the full listings after the jump.

TV Junkie: NBC's Partial Announcement; Fallon Not A Disaster According to WSJ

Unless you are a Chicago Bulls or Boston Celtics fan (yeah!) this weekend's TV was kind of boring other than Sunday's "Breaking Bad" on AMC, which was excellent as usual. We wonder why the premiere of season 2 of "Ashes to Ashes" was pulled off of BBC America - it was a highlight for Saturday and pretty much the only alternative to basketball.

'Southland' Touches on Rape Kit Backlog, Homicide Blog

Did you watch Southland on NBC last night? Only four shows in and it looks like they'll be green lit for season two already. Last night's episode was extremely interesting, literally ripping topics from the headlines just months old:

TV Junkie: Redstone Disses Leno

There's a ton of season finale's this evening but the most compelling TV is KCET's "SoCal Connected" and then just about everything on NBC from "Parks and Rec." through to 11pm - much like yesterday, late night has a lot of good options, although "Daily Show" and "Colber(t)" have been a little lackluster this week, so check out the full listings. Unless you tell us differently - please give us your suggestions.

On last week's episode of Southland, the new LAPD crime drama, officers brought out their bean bag shotgun to subdue a suspect. Did NBC stretch reality in this situation? No, they didn't--this is standard protocol and something we've seen used a few times when car chases come to an end.

TV Junkie: PBS All Online; ABC & Spike Renewals

The TV Junkie Plan: "SoCal Connected", "Parks and Recreation", "The Office", "30 Rock", "Southland", Kimmel, Fallon.

TV Junkie: Tivo To Go Toe-To-Toe With Nielsen; Is Your Show On the Chopping Block?

The TV Junkie Plan: "Chuck", "24", "Doing Da Vinci", Letterman, Fallon

TV Junkie: 'The Soup', 'The Soup', 'The Soup' Is On Fire

Weekend EditionLast night the TV Junkie was very fortunate to be invited to the taping of "The Soup" which will air on E! tonight at 10pm. It was a fantastic experience made all the more special by a great special guest and some hilarious shenanigans. Charming and kind host Joel McHale and executive producers KP Anderson and Edward Boyd (very fun men in their own right) gave us a few minutes for a video piece that will be posted later tonight. "The Soup" has always been a weekly gem and to see it being put together before one's eyes was an amazing experience. We're so fortunate to have this team at E! process and present a week's worth of TV and pop culture for us with just the right perspective of smart and biting humor. Watch it tonight, it's even better than usual.

LAPD TV Drama Airs 2nd Episode Tonight

An ad for NBC's Southland in last week's LA Times became the focus of controversy. Nevertheless, the show got some good play out of that and did pretty well in the ratings.

TV Junkie: Upcoming PaleyFest09 Highlights

The TV Junkie Plan: "Parks and Recreation", "The Office", "30 Rock", "Fine Cut: KCET's Festival of Student Film", "The Daily Show", Leno, Ferguson
