FREESTYLING*: Latin battle MCs take to the stage tonight at the Pico Rivera Sports Arena at 8 p.m. in the U.S. finals of the freestyle MC competition known as Red Bull Batalla de los Gallos. The free event will feature MCs from LA, SF and NYC rapping solely in Spanish 'best Latin battle MC' titile. The winner will then head to Mexico City to compete against lyricists from 15 other Spanish-speaking countries.

A Word or 108: Superbowl Redux: I found myself wandering over to the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet a couple times yesterday, and that isn't a bad thing -- the kitten halftime show was excellent. Almost all the Superbowl commercials had been leaked onto the web a week ago so there was nothing new there. I still can't understand why, with all those professionals there, that it would take almost Prince's entire (fantastic) set...

Feldman's Casino Royale (not to be confused with last year's Casino Royale) was a spy spoof that starred Peter Sellers, Ursula Andress, and David Niven, and featured a host of Hollywood personalities such as Orson Welles, Woody Allen, Deborah Kerr, William Holden, John Huston, Jean-Paul Belmondo, and Jacqueline Bisset in a mind-boggling assortment of roles.
Tonight, the 7th Annual Art Crawl kicks off across the eastside landscape of Silverlake, Los Feliz and Echo Park. The free, self-guided event runs from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Admission is $5.00, which also allows attendees acess to the "Album Cover Art Retrospective" post-crawl party. The Crawl continues throughout the weekend, running from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
