Isiah Thomas to Clippers' Front Office?

The franchise destroyer that is Isiah Thomas has been in talks with the Clippers about joining the team's front office. ESPN.com reports that Thomas, whose resume includes running the CBA into bankruptcy and taking the New York Knicks from a perennial playoff team to perennial punchline, talked to "Clippers owner Donald Sterling in a meeting arranged by current coach/general manager Mike Dunleavy," back in February.

Celtics 110, Lakers 91 - Los Angeles ran into the buzzsaw that is Boston. Apparently, the first thing to get cut were their shorts. "I felt violated, I felt naked," remarked Kobe Bryant. There are so many places we could go with that. Actually, he was referring to the throwback short-sorts the team wore as a tribute to the rivalry and Jerry West, who was the honorary captain for the game. Maybe that's why Kobe was an abysmal 6-of-25.

Is Kobe on drugs? Should he be following Lindsay Lohan into rehab? We ask because after repeatedly talking to media outlets everywhere, and after telling Stephen A. Smith that the Lakers have lied to him and aren't interested in making the Lakers champs again any time soon, he just called into KLAC and took back everything saying that wants to stay. Claiming it's "his" team and that after a long, emotional talk with coach...

Drunk Buss Driver - Laker owner Jerry Buss was popped for a DUI yesterday in Carlsbad. There are a lot of questions yet to be answered: Who was the 23 year old girl he was with? Why would a baller like Buss be driving a station wagon? Will Kobe's demands to bring back Jerry West be fulfilled? Hmmm, maybe this little ordeal was just to distract us from that last question. Dodgers 10, Nationals 0...

Kobe Bryant has made a bold demand to the Lakers front office. According to ESPN's Ric Bucher, the disgruntled diva shooting guard is asking owner, Dr. Jerry Buss to dig into the franchise's past and bring back Jerry West to replace Mitch Kupchak as general manager.

It is no secret that whomever stepped up to the plate after the departure of LAist's great sports mind, Phillip Wallace, had huge shoes to fill. We've gone through several false starts with a few different people attempting to tackle (writer's note - do you love how we're running with the football metaphors on Championship Sunday?) the daunting challenge of covering the endless number of sports teams and sports stories of the Southland.

This move is beyond perplexing. Why would Fisher want to play for one of the worst teams in the NBA, and be reunited with Nick Van Exel? It must be the money, and now you have to figure that the Warriors will trade Van Exel or Speedy Claxton. Lakers fans may remember Van Exel acting openly jealous and childish over being benched in favor of Fisher back in 1998, which led Jerry West to ship Van Exel to Denver for almost nothing.
