Comedy-rich LA has a lot to choose from. Here are some highlights for the month of May: [While I'd like to tell you what's happening at the Laugh Factory, I can't since the calendar part of their website hasn't been working for at least a week.] May 4th (TONIGHT) @ 7:30pm - Janeane Garofolo @ the Hollywood Improv May 4th (TONIGHT) - Tommy Chong & Shelby @ the Brea Improv - Do you think there......

In ten years, we'll remember this movie for introducing Olivia Thirlby | Photo courtesy of Fox Searchlight Now that all the hubbub has subsided, can we all agree that Juno was really just an okay movie and that there's no way Ellen Page should ever have been nominated for an Oscar? All I know is that whenever Rainn Wilson or Olivia Thirlby were on-screen I paid zero attention to the dour and monotone Page.......

8-11pm CBS - All new episodes of: How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory (series premiere!), Two and a Half Men, Rules of Engagement, CSI: Miami 8:00pm The War PBS - I think PBS completely effed this up by taking this great series head-to-head against a week of season and series premieres on the networks and cable. They should have shown it last week or the week before where there wasn't jack-shit......

The season 3 premiere of FX's It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia is the pick of the night. This is arguably Danny DeVito's best work since L.A. Confidential and his best comedy work in almost 20 years. While it's true that since it's cable the cast can say "shit" and "asshole" but that's not a gimmick the show relies on too much. What the show does follow is what made Seinfeld a success - it's a......

Though its title suggests exceedingly humble aspirations, I Want Someone to Eat Cheese With really is an unexpected little gem. Curb Your Enthusiasm's Jeff Garlin writes, directs, produces and stars (whew!) as the Marty-esque James, an overweight, under-employed, 39 year-old actor who still lives with his mother. His biggest concerns in life appear to be extolling the virtues of rice pudding to a convenience store clerk, keeping a great parking space near Wrigley Field......

Now that the frenzied first weekend is over, it should be much easier going at the L.A. Film Festival in terms of actually getting to see a movie. Virtually every film playing today shows either standby availability or tickets available at the door. Free events, unfortunately, are in short supply. Of course, there's the daily Bands on Broxton at noon and 7 p.m. at the Festival Promenade, but the only other free event is......

Say goodbye to Joan Beamin and Barri Martin. After two seasons the genius programming execs at Oxygen have decided to cancel their best show (read: their only watchable show), Campus Ladies. In the latest season the always amusing Campus Ladies had hit its stride with tighter yet more complex narrative arcs, funnier set-ups, a beefed up role for the already strong supporting cast of Amir Talai, Derek Carter and Miranda Kent, and a constant slew......
