In it's 3rd year of existence, this past weekend's Vegoose Music Festival featured quite the impressive lineup. Boasting the final North American Show of the ever incredible Daft Punk and the final stop of Rage Against the Machine's reunion (tour), the fest also included great performances from Gogol Bordello, Muse, M.I.A. and many, many more. Follow the jump for tonnnns (literally) of pics of Muse, Queens of the Stone Age, M.I.A., Gogol Bordello, Queens......

Here at LAist we've been a tad OCD about things lately. We had our little Spoon-fest last week, and our green movement today with Green LA Girl as our guest editor, so I suppose it's only fair that DAFT PUNK is our new obsession. Yes, we shared with you one of our favorite videos of all time for Harder, Better, Stronger, Faster (and what else those hands can do is on our list of......

The greatest surprise performance at the 24-hour Live Earth was not Kanye West and John Mayer joining the Police on "Message in a Bottle." Hell, no. It was Spinal Tap (reunited) with some help from Metallica (they actually laugh) bringing down London's Wembley Stadium with hits like "Stonehenge" and "Big Bottom." Madonna's gypsy-hobo-punk performance -- fully choreographed -- of "La Isla Bonita" with Eugene and Serge from Gogol Bordello was also surprisingly excellent (watch......

Tennessee is having a quaint little version of Coachella. Called Bonnaroo, the three-day outdoor festival is being headlined by the Police, above, and features the Flaming Lips, Gogol Bordello, Wilco, Wolfmother, and The White Stripes among others. Many of those bands have yet to play and thanks to the AT&T Blue Room you can see some of those heavy hitters live thru your computer. Just go to blueroom.att.com and click Live Now. Or you......

People like to put us in a box. They like to categorize us. You can't can't put baby in a corner. Just because we love gangsta rap and metal and punk and Gogol Bordello and Rage doesn't mean we don't have any love left for the soulful mellow gooves of bands like Animal Liberation Orchestra aka ALO. In fact just the opposite, we love them and they're one of our new favorite bands. Frisco......

Our most anticipated band at Coachella did not disappoint. They mixed their new songs off the amazing "Neon Bible" with your faves from their debut, "Funeral". And although we love love love "Neon Bible", the best moment in last night's performance was when singer Win Butler jumped into the crowd during "Rebellion (Lies)", never once wiping a smile on his face. Lighten up Win, they're cheering! This clip was taken from the AT&T Blue......

Now that the line-ups have been announced, I'm happy to follow Sloane's lead and speculate on what my day will look like. By using the Coachella scheduler, The Coachooser, I simply turned off blocks of bands I wasn't probably going to be interested in seeing, and turned on blocks of bands that I liked. On Friday there were 19 acts that I kept turned on, and by leaving each set just a little early,......

For all of you who gave up on Coachella because it sold out faster than you expected, your prayers have been answered - Three Day passes are back on sale for a very limited time. While that's great news, it's hard to ignore the fact that it's also great news for Ticketmaster who has figured out a way to make $29 out of each ticket - without having to fuss with even printing the......

Just because SXSW and Coachella get a lot of love from LAist (because we seem to think that the between the local fest and the one in Austin most of your rockfest needs are met) doesn't mean that we aren't impressed with the gaggle of bands who have been wooed by the farmlands of Tennessee. Bonnaroo is a four-day festival held in the middle of June in Manchester, TN. It's sorta the east-of-the-Mississsippi version......

Rarely do we at LAist hype the opening act of a show twice in the same hour, but Gogol Bordello deserves the love. If The Pogues, The Clash, and Borat were molested by a traveling pack of female Gypsies on the outskirts of Turkey and produced soccer-jersey wearing rockers, you'd have this band who was one of the highlights of last year's SXSW festival. They are loud, funny, fun, raucous, and their energy is......
