Last night's powerful rains beat down on Los Angeles, and Southern California in general, with a vengeance. Widespread power outages, mudslides, and flooded roads are just some of the consequences of the overnight downpour.

Some more updates to the Mudslide that happened earlier today on Forest Lawn Drive. An estimated 27,000 DWP customers lost power due to rain and lightning. Today at 12:43 p.m., a mud slide occurred at 6711 Forest Lawn Dr, just West of Barham Blvd., trapping 6 to 7 vehicles according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. No injuries are reported and Forest Lawn Drive is closed between Barham and Zoo Drive. It is unknown at this time if the cars were parked or driving.
