Musician Helps Tackle Man in LAX Bomb Scare

"We all jumped him. He was struggling hardcore. I was holding down his arm. Somebody had a foot on his head. Everyone was holding down a different body part. He was going nuts. I was telling him to chill because he's not going anyplace." That's Chris Llewellyn of Asher Roth's band talking to the LA Times about the mid-morning incident where a man on board claimed he had a bomb as a a Delta flight from Atlanta was landing and taxiing in Los Angeles. The Pennsylvania based band was traveling to town for an appearance on the boring "Last Call With Carson Daly." Man Makes Threat on Plane, Passengers Take Him Down at LAX

A man who apparently made a bomb threat and tried to open the back door of a Delta plane as it was landing at Los Angeles International Airport today. "The passenger is reported to have made a threat aboard the plane and was subdued by passengers," LAX officials said in a statement. "The incident is under investigation by FBI agents and Los Angeles Airport Police."

A dead body found in the on-board restroom of Delta flight 950 shortly before landing Wednesday morning in Atlanta was identified as a 61-year-old woman from Ventura. Michaele O'Neil Carnahan succumbed to complications from a pre-existing heart condition, an autopsy found. She had been undergoing evaluation by her personal physician for suspected heart problems, according to medical examiners. Carnahan was on her way from her Ventura home to a wedding in Florida via the LAX-ATL flight.

A woman's body was found early this morning on a Delta Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Atlanta.

      

Earlier this month, Clear, the "Fly Through Airport Security fast pass, announced its partnership with Delta Airlines. It's one of those Registered Traveler Programs you can sign up for to speed through security lines after doling out $128. By the end of the month, Terminal 5 at LAX will have this system set up.

Here's one way to celebrate the national do-not-use-gas holiday known as Dump the Pump: announce long-term cancellations for 13% of your LAX flights and blame high fuel costs. That's what Delta is reported to be doing in a move that has somewhat become a trend.

A possible water supply alert is being considered by Metropolitan Water District (MWD) of Southern California, who serve 18 million people in the region.
