Check out late night TV, lots of good stuff including an appearance of Juliette and the Licks (photo via Juliette's Myspace) on the Late Late Show. Tonight we also present the guilty pleasures of Steve-O's new show Dr. Steve-O, USA @ 11:00pm. Steve-O's sidekick is the lovely Trishelle of Real World fame who was interviewed here on LAist a couple months ago. The premise is that Steve-O and Trishelle subject "wussies" to various humiliations...

Don't be alarmed at the loud title above. This is just a primer to get you in the mood for all the festivities, mayhem and otherwise cool stuff that will be happening at the Comic-Con in San Diego next week. If you don't already know, the San Diego Comic-Con is one of those events with humble roots that is now one of the premier happenings of the year, at least on this coast. However, it's not just comics and manga and people dressed in weird costumes (although there will be people dressed in weird costumes, no doubt). No, its about much more than comic books these days.

First things first: It is a little weird seeing David Boreanaz walk around in the day time without beginning to smolder and from the first words that came out of her mouth, we were completely in love with Michaela Cronin's Angela Montenegro. We can't help it, LAist has a thing for quirky, brainy chicks that do cool things with computers. Emily Deschanel as 'Bones' is a passable heroine and it seems likely that she is going to quickly make the role her own but, despite the constant pushing of her story, it is Boreanaz who makes the impression. He is comfortable and alive as Agent Booth which gives us hope that we'll be able to forget that for 6 years he was a vampire with a soul.
