On Monday night, Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan and Spirits in the Sky -- germinated from the recent Sky Saxon tribute at The Echoplex, whose lineup includes guitarist Dave Navarro and 19 year old drummer Mike Byrne -- performed the final show of their mini tour at the Hotel Cafe in Hollywood.

The front man of Jane's Addiction, Porno For Pyros, Satellite Party and a number of other side projects celebrated his 50th birthday with a rock 'n roll blow out at the Mirage in Las Vegas Saturday night. It was a who's who of Hollywood and Rock N Roll with Deborah Harry, Bill Morrison, Tom Morello, Billy Idol, Juliette Lewis, Sen Dog, Bobo (both of Cypress Hill) and many more in attendance. As mentioned previously, AVN's annual Adult Entertainment Expo and Adult Movie Awards took place earlier this month in Las Vegas, with the convention running for four days at the Sands Expo and Convention Center and the awards show taking place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.

       

Even though Southern California is the nexus of the adult industry, next week the industry and its fans will convene in Las Vegas for AVN's annual Adult Entertainment Expo and Adult Movie Awards.

LAist had the chance to check in with comedian/radio personality/Emmy Award winning writer Greg Fitzsimmons last night as he drove to Hollywood from the San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino where he earned a standing ovation, opening up for Artie Lange. Driving from the desert to Hollywood isn't something the Venice Beach resident does on a regular basis, luckily we had access to Google Maps serving as interviewer/navigator to Greg on his journey.
