The USC student body is shaken and now it's going to cause a stir. At least 300 protesters plan to descend on Traddies, the on-campus bar, for a rally at 6:00pm on Thursday, March 22. According to Facebook, a popular college networking site, an additional 100 people are listed as "maybe" and over 400 have yet to RSVP for the "Boycott Traddies" event. Confirmations are likely to increase after next weekend as students are on......

Earlier this year USC Daily Trojan editor in chief Zach Fox's re-election got cockblocked by the SC VP of Student Affairs. USC, like many colleges has a process of choosing their EICs by having a staff vote followed by a conformation vote by a group consisting of students, staff, and faculty. Because Fox had the audacity this fall to request the financial paperwork in regards to the Daily Trojan from USC, the VP of......

USC: Unfortunately, such events are all too common on the streets of L.A. - and the result is too often handwringing followed by inaction. But this was so public, and so blatant, that surely this will result in real repercussion for the officers involved. Right? While UCLA police have announced they will launch their own investigation, anyone with the most cursory knowledge of the City of Angels won't hold their breath for the outcome......

Both USC and UCLA's student papers look at interesting homeless issues today. The Daily Bruin heads out into Westwood to talk to area homeless people as they examine the court ruling invalidating LA's stringent anti-homelessness policy. USC looks at students without homes and how some of them have begun sleeping in the stacks in the 24 hour library. The Daily Trojan points out that this isn't that uncommon an occurrence at expensive universities around......

Much like the New England Patriots, Taft High School seems like a team of destiny. The two time national Academic Decathlon champions have won the district tournament and move one step closer to another national championship. Their win comes on the same day that Governor Schwarzenegger called for the breaking up of LAUSD while throwing his support in the Mayoral race to Bob Hertzberg. In other Mayoral news, former police chief and current councilman......

Today in the Daily Trojan there appeared the article "Record Penny-pinching," a profile of the best record stores in Los Angeles. While LAist can't fault the need for such a list—and the conclusion that Amoeba Music is the best in LA—there are some fairly notable omissions. Topping the list are Hear Music, Record Surplus, Virgin Megastore Hollywood, Aron's Records and Amoeba Music. Fine places, sure, but LAist finds fault with the skimpy selection. Los......
