CIA recruitment on UC campuses have always been a controversial topic. But Thursday UCSB students sent in the clowns to "rescue" a protester who was being "waterboarded". Thirty-three employees of the sleepy little Santa Barbara News-Press have been fired or quit in the past seven months and yesterday six more were axed knocking the total up to 39. The latest half dozen were shown the door after allegedly going to a freeway overpass and holding up signs encouraging people to cancel their subscriptions to the embattled newspaper. We had no idea how bad it had gotten up in Santa Barbara until we read the UCSB Daily Nexus early this morning, and saw that they had refused to print the word "fuck" on their website. "[Expletive]" replaced the most famous four-letter-word ever.
