FBI Looking into Former Assemblyman Mike Duvall After Sex Talk Video

It's not an investigation, but the FBI has questioned at least two employees of the former Assemblyman Mike Duvall to see if there is any evidence of criminal wrongdoing, the LA Times reported today. Back in September, KCAL9 obtained a video of the Corona-based politician bragging about sexual trysts with, nonetheless, lobbyists. One of them allegedly worked for a utility firm. And what do you know, Duvall was the vice chairman of the Assembly's Utilities and Commerce committee.

Another Fire with Evacuations, This One in Norco

As the Guiberson Fire burns, already some 300 acres, in Ventura County, another fire has prompted evacuations in the Riverside County city of Norco. Mandatory evacuations are underway in the area of Vandermolen Drive and Valley Drive, according to ABC7. The blaze, located at the border of the city of Riverside, where firefighters are trying to contain it on a hill near homes, is moving in a northward direction deeper into Norco and into Corona, according to a fire captain speaking to KNX1070. Temperatures are currently 102 degrees.

Due to the Triangle Complex Fire (sometimes referred to as the Freeway Complex Fire) that has affected the areas of Corona, Yorba Linda, Anaheim Hills, Chino Hills, Brea Canyon, and Diamond Bar there remain several freeway closures. The following closures are currently in effect: 57 Freeway between Lambert Road and the 60 Freeway; 71 Southbound at Pine to the West 91 connector; 241 Northbound from Santiago to the 91 Freeway; 91 Westbound to the Southbound 241. Motorists are encouraged to stay away from the burn areas and to leave the streets as clear as possible so that evacuees can make swift exits and emergency personnel can reach the affected areas with ease.

The fire that broke out Saturday in Corona near Green River Road and the 91 Riverside Freeway has now been dubbed the "Freeway Complex" fire or the "Triangle Freeway" fire because of the broad stretch of land in three counties--Riverside (Corona), Orange (Yorba Linda, Anaheim Hills), and San Bernardino (Chino Hills)--in which it is blazing. A fire in nearby Brea is being connected to this fire, and now threatens the neighboring community of Diamond Bar, which would then involve a fourth county, Los Angeles.

Two wildfires continue to burn, one in Corona near the 91 Riverside Freeway and Green River and one in Yorba Linda in the Gypsum Canyon area. It is believed that the fire jumped from its start point near Corona and ignited the brush in Yorba Linda, and may in fact have merged into one flank of fire. The fire has consumed over 800 acres, and officials are saying they believe 12 homes have been burned, although some are estimating the total between the two fires to be 16. "Two Corona firefighters were slightly injured when flames engulfed their engine," reports KFWB. Area residents remain under evacuation orders as winds continue to drive the flames through the neighborhood. The 91 Freeway is closed in both directions in the Corona area and there are reports of people stuck on the freeway in total gridlock.

Firefighters in Orange County are currently fighting two reported brush fires. A fire "in Corona near Green River Road and the westbound Riverside (91) Freeway" was reported in the 9 o'clock hour this morning, and now reports of a fire in Yorba Linda in an as-of-yet unspecified area are both threatening homes as well as necessitating freeway closures and evacuations. CBS2.com reports that "the 91 Freeway was closed between Green River Road and the Corona (71) Expressway at 9:45 a.m. Traffic is also being stopped on the Riverside (91) Freeway between Orange and Riverside counties." Immediate evacuations of the area have been ordered. The Yorba Linda fire is prompting evacuations of the area to the East of Gypsum Canyon, which, according to a live report on KABC-7 is the area on Page 741 of the current Thomas Guide map book.

Reports are surfacing of a vegetation fire at the 91 Freeway and Green River near Corona in Orange County. This new fire is apparently posing a threat to nearby homes. No further information is available.

The Sesnon Fire that began near Porter Ranch on Monday has greatly subsided after burning 14,125. It is currently 70% contained. Over in the Northeast Valley, the Marek Fire is close to containment at 92% after scorching 4,824 acres.

Does it ever end? A new fire, named the Sierra Fire, has broken out in the mountains abut Yorba Linda, an Orange County city northeast of Anaheim and Fullerton. The fire, first reported at 3:51 p.m., has burned two to three acres and is located two-thirds the way up Sierra Peak in or near the Cleveland National Forest, southeast of the 91 and 241 freeways. The Orange County Fire Authority is dropping water and has a number of units en route at the moment, according to a spokesperson on the phone.
