Astronaut & SaMo High Grad Becomes New Dad... In Space!

Randy Bresnik blasted off into space on Atlantis just last Monday, but this weekend his life changed in a whole new way. Back in Houston, Bresnik's wife Rebecca gave birth to a baby girl, Abigail Mae, "just hours after the astronaut's first-ever spacewalk," reports KTLA.

It's an American institution on the verge of its 100th anniversary, and the Boy Scouts are struggling to survive. Although it's still the top youth organization in the nation, enrollment has been steadily declining over the past two decades, and in order to stay afloat, they've come up with a new strategy: Attract Hispanic kids.

Today, our computer is not about to explode like it was for the past two days in the sweltering heat. "The National Weather Service forecast highs for Thursday of between 69 and 79 near the Los Angeles County coast, 86 to 94 inland, 84 to 94 in the San Fernando Valley, 87 to 92 in the San Gabriel Valley, 88 and 93 in the Santa Clarita Valley and 82 and 91 in the Antelope Valley," reported the Long Beach Press-Telegram.

So many times those of us who live in LA play host to out-of-town visitors who want to see all the sights that our amazing city has to offer. It's pretty routine to get asked if and how one can get up to the iconic Hollywood Sign to see it up close, and, sadly, it must be admitted that the sign is off-limits to regular folk. This means that looky-loos, locals, and pranksters who want to "change" the sign are out of luck (which means Brandon, Brenda, Kelly et al would probably not have been able to drape "W Bev Hi 93" over the sign after all).
