Many local brides opt to have their weddings at any number of beautiful venues in the Los Angeles area, giving their special occasion a special setting. An oft-selected location is the Hotel Bel-Air because of its oasis-like setting and long history as a place to escape for celebrities since it began serving guests in 1946.

My oh my, how things change fast. California's marriage licenses identified each of the couples by either bride and groom before gay marriage was legalized in May when it changed to Party A and Party B. But after many complaints and one couple threatening to sue, the state changed it back--this time with a few changes. "The new form will apply for same-sex and heterosexual marriages, and applicants may also decline to check any box at all," reported The Granite Bay View who quoted Suanne Buggy, a spokeswoman for the California Department of Public Health, saying "You could check bride and groom, bride and bride, groom and groom. And it is completely optional if a couple decides they don’t want to check anything at all.” The new forms will be available in November.

      

After a handful of marriages last night (including the couple that challenged the ban on same-sex marriage and got it overturned), this morning marked the beginning of M Day as thousands of couples across the state celebrated love and rights. For Los Angeles, the first official marriage within city limits was officiated by Los Angeles City Council President Eric Garcetti. And this one was close to home: Shane Goldsmith (flower dress) and Monica Granados (shirt/pants) met in 2004 when they were both staff members for Garcetti. It's only fitting that the man that brought them together originally brings them closer on this special day.

Wanna know why I'm a bachelor? Because people are crazy and young brides are the craziest. Some of this young lady's friends are sweet, but some of them are laughing at her and one just keeps filming and filming and filming. Why didn't anyone take the scissors away from this imbalanced lass? Why didn't any one of her friends go with her to the hair dresser? Why are people getting married so damn young?...
