Fantasia Singing the National Anthem

Now let's hear an American Idol who can actually sing.

This morning we have Fantasia Barrino singing "The Star Spangled Banner" in what appears to be Houston Texas as the Astros were about to face off against the New York Yankees for the All-Star Game.

Maybe one day "American Idol" will invite all the winners and almost-winners face off against each other in some million dollar winner-take-all Super Idol series.

Of course we'd miss the rancid auditions that we love at the beginning of each AI season, but we would have some pretty good singing happening every show.

Our money would be on Fantasia.

Yeah, her's is OK if you like screaming and don't mind a few totally wrong words when someone is singing our National Anthem at a baseball game. "bright stripes" instead of "broad stripes," and what the heck is a "lampart" anyway? Oh and by the way, just to prove how wrong you really can be....this was the All Star Game, not Houston vs. New York. Get a clue Tony, and try clearing some earwax out before you listen to any more music.

Fantasia is incredible...best talent of our generation.

That was great. jengerbug hates America.

Fantasia was fantastic!!

Fantasia Barrino is easily the best performer
American Idol has ever produced

AI did a great job in finding Fantasia's talent, it's funny that a jengerbug can sit and home and criticize while acclaimed artists such as Elton John, Aretha, Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones and an endless list acknowledge her gift, incl. a new broadway show while Fantasia laughs her way to the bank.

Right on Tony. My money would be along side yours if it ever happened. It would almost be a "no contest" as she is so far ahead of the rest with her unique talent and humble and caring persona. Legend status awaits this beautiful young lady.

Fantasia...Class Act! She will be one of America's treasures. I still can't get enough of watching her clip from the Kennedy Center in honor of Elton John...very moving.

Fantasia did a great job. Very emotional and people were applauding before she finished the song.Wow, what a powerhouse.

Fantasia is one of the good singers that America has now. She will always be welcome to sing the national anthem. Good rendition, Fantasia:-)
