Another Look at the Chinese New Year Parade

This LAist also grabbed her trusty camera and took the Red Line downtown to catch yesterday's Chinese New Year Parade. We joined the fray on Broadway to usher in this Year of the Boar 4705 in all its colorful glory, although we, too, ran into the same parade-photogging snags as our fellow LAist mentioned last night. The parade was just one part of an ongoing celebration, and there's still a window--a porthole, perhaps--of opportunity for those so inclined to head down to Chinatown to check out the street festival and classic car show being put on by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce. The festival runs in Chinatown until 6 p.m. tonight.

I really like your set of photos... what a difference it makes when you shoot a little later in the day and one street over! (I was on Hill Street)

We moved from the end on B'way towards the center; it was around 3ish when we started shooting. You definitely had me beat with some great up close shots and some wonderful angles!
