Clearly, L.A. does. However, plans to bring the N.F.L back to the City of Angels haven't worked out so well, and it seems we'll have to wait a bit longer. But with the Galaxy’s new acquisition, at least we'll get a new, quality football player in town.

Reacting to the news, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa responded,
"G o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o a l ! !"

He also added, "David Beckham will generate tremendous exposure for the L.A. Galaxy, and increase an already heightened level of interest in the sport of soccer among Angelenos and all Americans."

If Beckham's past success is any indication, the wait for the N.F.L. may have become a bit more fun.
