Hello Kitty Wants To Get You Drunk And Take You To A Dodgers Game

Yes, you read that right. The wholesome, blank-faced Sanrio spokesmodel who's "a cartoon character... a little girl... a friend" but is absolutely definitely NOT a cat has her own line of wines. Which is great because we've never known what to pair with Fancy Feast. Sorry. We forget she's not a cat.

In all seriousness, Sanrio branched into vino a while back and the result is half-a-dozen Hello Kitty varietals: pinot grigio, prosecco, pinot noir, pinot nero, sparkling rose and "Sweet Pink Sparkling Wine." They cost about $50 to $80 per bottle but if you buy a combo pack, the price drops to about $22 per bottle.

You know the perfect time to drink the stuff? Tonight, before the Dodgers game, because Tuesday, August 21 is Hello Kitty Night at Dodger Stadium. Miss Kitty will make her second visit to the ballpark this season and fans can get a fancy Dodgers Hello Kitty drawstring backpack.

If you need pre-gaming suggestions, the sparkling rose, which has a cute glass bow on the bottle, wins for sheer cuteness. For taste... well, we don't want to be mean because we grew up loving Hello Kitty but the two wines we tried — the sparkling rose and the pinot noir — both looked a lot better than they tasted.
