Donald Glover, and his rap persona Childish Gambino, are back with another surprise. He caused a cultural moment when he dropped the "This Is America" video the night he hosted Saturday Night Live, and this time he's mashing truth-telling politics with summer vibes in a surprise release of two new songs.

The two new tracks: "Summertime Magic" and "Feels Like Summer." They were released together in a not a single, not quite an EP labeled Summer Pack. They're co-written and co-produced by Glover and Ludwig Goransson, who were also behind "This Is America."

"Summertime Magic" has some calypso feel to it, with warm, repetitive lyrics perfect for chilling by the pool, or helping you chill out while you're stuck on the 405.

"Feels Like Summer" has a more quietly intense side. There's love and summer feelings, but there's also more of Gambino's serious side.

The second verse has a relaxing sound, but brings lyrics like "Every day gets hotter than the one before/Running out of water, it's about to go down" and "Air that kill the bees that we depend upon." As usual, Gambino gives you something to think about while vibing on his music. (The heat's something that's been on our minds, and we're sure yours too.)

Another reason Glover's been in the zeitgeist this week — an animator paid tribute to "This Is America" by sharing his efforts to recreate the video on a 1987 Macintosh.

You'll have to wait until summer's over to catch Glover live — Childish Gambino plays the Forum in Inglewood on Sept. 26 and again on Oct. 3.
