Gang Member Arrested In Shooting Death of 6-Year-Old Girl

Authorities announced yesterday an arrest in the shooting death of a six-year-old Moreno Valley girl.

21-year-old Keandre Narkie Johnson, a parolee and self-described gang member, was arrested Monday afternoon in Hemet, according to the Riverside Press-Enterprise.

Jail records indicate Johnson was booked for investigation of murder, child cruelty resulting in death, attempted murder, misdemeanor battery, and parole violation.

Tiana Ricks was shot September 7 while standing in the driveway of her home with her father. Two unidentified men walked up to them and reportedly opened fire. Ricks died later at the hospital.

Authorities initially said they did not know if the shooting was gang-related, however Ricks' father was not affiliated with a gang, reports the L.A. Times.

Ricks' death prompted two high-profile entertainers, rapper The Game and Snoop Dogg (aka Snoop Lion) to donate funds for the little girl's funeral.
