Killsonic Invades Downtown Art Walk & DASH Bus

Sometimes, the most fun in life comes in surprises. Last night, that surprise came in the form of a random marching band appearing out of nowhere at the corner of 5th and Spring playing a hybrid of New Klezmer Afro-Brazilian Tango during last night's Downtown Art Walk. We followed the free-jazz, experimental, all-genres-equal Killsonic for about an hour throughout Gallery Row intruding upon art galleries and people's peace and quiet. At one point, we found ourselves with the band of around 20 musicians on a city DASH shuttle. What a trip... in more ways than one.

Killsonic's next official gig on a real stage is next a week from Monday night at The Bordello in Little Tokyo. Their next ad hoc marching sidewalk gig? You'll know when you know. We just hope they keep on marching the streets of Downtown every second Thursday of the month.

This is awesome! I'm definitely down for Bordello on Monday night if these guys will be there - great music.

Of course this would happen on the one DT artwalk I miss.

Of course Bekka! We must beg them to do it again and again and again

Callie, don't you wish now that you joined us?

I saw Cupid at Pete's last night. He must have had a busy evening.

For the record, Killsonic's show is on the 25th, not this Monday, my mistake, I was excited.

Also, I was wondering why their name sounded so familiar to me. Then I figured it out, it's one of Alex & Sam's favorite bands listed on our recent interview with them:
