Liza Richardson's Top 10 Albums of 2007

liza richardson of kcrw

Yesterday we started our Best of 2007 list with choices from KCRW's Nic Harcourt and Tom Schnabel. But then we realized we weren't being gentlemen.

The ladies of KCRW should have gone first! D'oh!

So fasten your seatbelts for The Drop's host Liza Richardson's picks for 2007. Something tells us our comments will be buzzing. Will it be for the inclusion of M.I.A.? Let's hope.

1) Devendra Banhart - Smokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyon (XL)

2) Budos Band - Budos Band II (Daptone Records)

3) Queens of The Stone Age - Era Vulgaris (Interscope)

4) Wilco - Sky Blue Sky (Nonesuch)

5) Radiohead - In Rainbows (Radiohead.com)

6) Various Artists - Fabriclive 36 by James Murphy & Pat Mahoney (Fabric)

7) MGMT - Oracular Spectacular (Sony)

8) Linkin Park - Minutes to Midnight (Warner Brothers)

9) MIA - Kala (Interscope)

10) Iron & Wine - The Shepherd's Dog (Sub Pop)

schwiiing, what a list

something in this list doesnt belong, can you spot whats wrong?

a little bit obvious, but why does this person have a radio show. linkin park in a top 10 list? sentiment of your lame life 7 years ago does not justify putting them in a top 10, especially does not justify having a radio show.

Of course, one could just listen to her show and understand why she has one. Liza has been one of the few, reliably intriguing deejays in L.A. for the better part of, what, fifteen years now?
