Attention record labels who want people to love you forever and think fondly of your bands: do what Dangerbird did today and invite the good people who adore music to come to your roof and drink beer and eat tacos and meet cool people, and listen to some of your great new talent.

Do it a little after noon so we're awake.

And make sure it's a perfectly sunny day.

Oh, and make sure Sea Wolf is there playing tracks off their unbelievable new EP Get to the River Before it Runs Low as well as songs from their upcoming full length cd that promises to be even darker. Also invite the dude from the Silversun Pickups to bring the most adorable puppy ever (pictured, above).

Way more pics of the rooftop summer jam, the tacos, the rockstars, and that puppy after the jump.

Sea Wolf is one of our favorite new bands. Lately we've been totally obsessed over their EP so when we got the invite to come to their label's rooftop party we were all hells yeah. Their music is dark yet catchy. We can see why KCRW is playing them and Indie but we're sorta surprised because how often do good bands get overlooked?

Because we're also crazy about the Dinosaur Jr. new one Beyond, we made a little mix cd of Sea Wolf and Beyond. What you got going is the two fast ones off Beyond "Almost Ready" and "Been Here All The Time" and then you put in Sea Wolf's "You're a Wolf, Boy" followed by "Your Garden Remains" and you've already got a pretty sweet shower mix going already. Just sayin.

Anyways they had free beers, water, tacos, corn, a great opening band - the Eulogies, and even pink lemonade on the roof today.

How was the show? Great. For some reason I expected just Alex Church to play his songs acoustic, but he brought the whole band which really made things nice since its a super rich and full record, so it's really nice to hear a big group play it. You forget how important the keyboards can be sometimes.

If you're in Echo Park Thursday night, they play the Echo which rhymes with hey, go.

Dangerbird is the home of the Silversun Pickups which is why bro was there with his new puppy, which you can see below with Julianna from Ink Tank...

At LAist, we believe in journalism without censorship and the right of a free press to speak truth to those in power. Our hard-hitting watchdog reporting on local government, climate, and the ongoing housing and homelessness crisis is trustworthy, independent and freely accessible to everyone thanks to the support of readers like you.

But the game has changed: Congress voted to eliminate funding for public media across the country. Here at LAist that means a loss of $1.7 million in our budget every year. We want to assure you that despite growing threats to free press and free speech, LAist will remain a voice you know and trust. Speaking frankly, the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news in our community.

We’re asking you to stand up for independent reporting that will not be silenced. With more individuals like you supporting this public service, we can continue to provide essential coverage for Southern Californians that you can’t find anywhere else. Become a monthly member today to help sustain this mission.

Thank you for your generous support and belief in the value of independent news.
