Speaking of Food Writers...

laptop_food.jpg We were delighted to find out that one of our favorite folks who talks about food was named this weekend as the recipient of the LA Press Club Award for Best Individual Blog. Congrats to Pat Saperstein and Eating LA! According to Saperstein, the judges summed up her site as follows:

Writer does a great job of merging personality and topic, producing an engaging voice. Well-informed without coming across as elitist. Great showcasing of related blogs and resources. Comes across as a 'come with me' adventure for writer and user.
We concur, and will drink to her win. She also tips her hat to the LA Weekly's Jonathan Gold, who took top honors for Best Review or Criticism for his very tasty Counter Intelligence column.

Gold also happens to be an upcoming guest at the Zocalo series of public lectures, which promises to satisfy our hunger for food talk. He'll be the focal point of the evening on July 16th at the Central Library, and is slated to talk about his career, where to eat, and the city he’s been savoring for decades--and we're guessing there'll be many other tasty morsels offered up along the way. This looks to be a fun night, and at the price tag of absolutely free, we're guessing if you're interested in eating Mr. Gold's words, best to reserve your seat at the table ASAP. (Use the "Reserve a seat" link via the event page as linked above.)

Zocalo LA presents "An Evening with Jonathan Gold"

Monday July 16th at 7 pm
