VeeV Was Veevy Veevy Good To Us
There are many perks of being LAist. The wine, women, and song are just the tip of the iceberg.
Sometimes an email will come through that says "hey would you like to go here for free" or "would you like to listen to this" or "would you like to try this"?
And sometimes it's a crappy cd created by people who know nothing about music delivered by people who really should reconsider everything in their lives...
and sometimes it's a nice, tall, bottle of booze that's sweet but not too sweet, potent, but not too potent, and delicious enough for seconds, and thirds.
VeeV, first came to us as a little itsy bitsy sample, in something that looked like what perfume samples come in. Clearly they had no idea who they sent it to because we gulped it down and barely discovered what it was all about. Then we got a nice big bottle sent over and it was on.
LAist holds monthly "meetings" where, let's face it, all we do is drink and laugh and make out.
Last week we were celebrating the year anniversary of the Pierce Reign so we had a VeeV taste test in the kitchen. It was comprised of dozens of plastic cups and shots in each of the cups. We all did the shots, scientifically, and once we were finished with our studies everyone asked for seconds.
Reputed as being the very first Açaí spirit, the press release claims that the açaí in VeeV is "the exotic-tasting, Brazilian national fruit considered to be the healthiest food on the planet. With 57% more antioxidants than pomegranates or blueberries, and 30 times more heart-healthy anthocyanins than red wine, this dark purple berry has catapulted from the Amazonian Rainforest to the martini glasses of L.A.’s most influential tastemakers." That would be us.
Apparently LA was the only place you could get this sassy little spirit in the sexy tall bottle, so suck on that, Miami Beach!
So yes we drank the sweet stuff (think a tastier, smoother, Kamikaze) this weekend and thanks to the antioxidants we were doing it the healthy way!? Antioxidants never tasted so nice.
But the real test to how good it was is in the fact that we still had some Grey Goose left over but we were all out of VeeV.
Want us to sample something? We won't promise we will try it or like it or write about it, or even write about it nicely, but you never know: LAist, PO Box 291305, LA 90029.

As a partaker in that kitchen taste test, I must agree the vodka was delish. And being the healthy-living lady that I am, I'm always a fan of alcohol that has some sort of health benefit!

What a bunch of product whores you are. Could you be any more blatant? Actually, why not go all out for it and we'll see if an laist endorsement actually helps a product.

we tried it, we liked it, we wrote about it
sometimes we try things, dont like it, and write about that too.
its called journalism fred.
look it up.

yeah fred doesn't get it, but it is a HUGE stretch to call anything on here "journalism". is that what that YouTube clip of CNR is? or the TV listings? journalism? just make no pretentions about the crap that we all do online and we'll all be better off.

I have had the privilege of trying this drink and I must say that I truly enjoy it. Glad to see that its finally making some press! BTW, you guys failed to mention VeeV is a green company and donates some of the sales of the bottle to help sustain the Acai berry in farming.
