A.M. News: Disney Hall, Westside Traffic & More

disneyhall2.jpg

Did you know Disney Hall was designed before the Guggenheim in Bibao, Spain? On Tuesday, Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors will vote on taking ownership of Disney Hall. If they do, they will rename it to County Hall. Just kidding. (Los Angeles Times)

Speaking of the County, Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky apparently can sustain about a 9-minute mile for almost a half marathon distance. That's one option if you want to get across the Westside. Another option is "to investigate the possibility of turning Olympic and Pico boulevards into one-way thoroughfares." (Los Angeles Times)

Did we say Westside? Traffic? Oh yeah, it may be due to a lack of a subway. What a thought! And one man who was integral in both killing the Wilshire subway and most recently rebirthing it is Los Angeles Congressman Henry Waxman, who represents California's 30th District in the U.S. House of Representatives. (The California Report [Scroll down or Search for L.A. Congressman to Take Lead on Oversight])

Okay, a little more County fun. "Los Angeles County officials have started to quietly acknowledge that scams by county employees and recipients of county services may be costing taxpayers nearly $2 billion a year." That money could probably fix a lot of the Westside gridlock problem. (Daily News)

You know, they could just put a light rail train on the tracks that already exist on the westside.

Oh, wait. That would be too easy.

Nevermind.
